Figure Gallery
Don Winar

Don Winar's name is well known in the scale figure modeling community. In 2000 he set his sights on 1/6th scale, dedicated to bring those subjects to the same level of scale modeling craftsmanship as his resin and plastic small-scale figures. This gallery showcases a few examples of his ground-breaking work. Some of these are for sale. Don accepts custom commissions as well. Contact him with specifications of your desired figure for a quote or to make an offer on a figure seen here.

LUFTWAFFE PILOT,
NORTH AFRICA

With details from a mix of BBi and Dragon parts, this Luftwaffe pilot's most notable features are his legs. The knees have been puttied over and the legs repainted. The crusher is BBi, with some weathering a hairspray, to mold it to that "crushed" appearance.

101st AB MEDIC
BASTOGNE

Cold, worn out, but still on his feet. That's what Don was shooting for with this medic figure using mostly Dragon parts.

29th INFANTRY RIFLEMAN

The rolled sleeves on this figure provide the perfect showcase for our bare resin replacement arms. The gaiters were taken apart, then glued tightly around the ankles for a more realistic effect.

101st AIRBORNE AT NORMANDY

Using a mix of the BBi DeTrez Airborne parts and Dragon's, along with a few custom bits like CVI patches and NewLine Corcoran jumpboots, this figure depicts a classic image of the U.S. paratrooper on/near D-Day. The base is Dragon's (Dan Summers') with further detailing and embellishment. The flag is custom painted, made from fabric scrap material.
